Maddie is 5 weeks old!
Madeline has had a very busy couple of weeks.
She found another baby playing on her playmat with her. It looks like the other baby is sad, so that made Madeline sad.
She has become interested in the toys in her "magic chair" bouncer. This chair lets Mommy and Daddy have dinner, since dinner time is usually a cranky time for Maddie.
Maddie is now taking baths in her big bathtub instead of the sponge baths or quick dips in the sink. She didn't put up as big of a fuss as I thought she might, and she actually slept very well after the bath.

My First Father's Day!
To celebrate my first Father's Day, Maddie and Mom went out and spoiled me. They got me two new books and a framed print of Maddie's hand- and footprints for the office.
The first book was a book I could read to Maddie when she wanted to stay up and hang out with the old folks. I like it because its all about a bunch of bears, while I strongly think Maddie will like it because her Dad will read it to her in a bad bear accent.
The other book was more geared towards Mom and Dad's funny bones. The book is titled Parents Book of Firsts: The Seemingly Insignificant but Truly Astounding Accomplishments of Mom and Dad, and as the name implies, the book pokes fun at all the significant events that first-time parents record, (or at least should record) following the arrival of their child.
On a school note, I am fast approaching my first summer session final in Business and Public Policy. After this final, I have about a week or so before the next session starts up. Note to Maddie-its easier to do the education bit sooner rather than later.
Without further ado, I give you Maddie's week four photo and a little video extra!

The worst day of my life
Yesterday was the worst day of my life. Since I have been alive for 24 days now, I think I can say that with confidence.
Mommy took me somewhere horrible. They poked my hips with something that was slimy and even though I screamed my loudest they KEPT DOING IT!
When they were finished, Mommy changed my diaper (which she continues to do even though I have made it pretty clear that I do not like that either) and someone new came in wearing a white coat and told me I had to come back and do it again! I screamed even louder than before, but I get the feeling that I will be going back there. I must come up with a way to get out of it.
Here's a picture of me before we left home. Doesn't the look on my face look like I knew something terrible was going to happen?

I am 3 weeks old!
Now I am 3 weeks old! That's almost a month! Today I went on some errands with Mommy -- we even had to pick up Daddy because of a train derailment!
Mommy let me set my own pace with eating this weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to get weighed and we'll see if I have to get back on Mommy's schedule!
Please excuse the topless photo. It is very hot here and our air conditioning is not cooling us down like we would like it to.

Happy Due Date Madeline!
Today is Madeline's due date & we are happy to report that we have a happy and healthy 3-week old baby girl! We marked the occasion by a quick trip to the Container Store, and got to try out her stroller frame that snaps into her carseat. Unfortunately, it was too hot to stay out very long. Madeline slept through the whole trip.

2-week check-ups
Madeline and I both had our 2 week check-ups this week. Mine was yesterday and Madeline's was today. We are both doing great, and I am especially pleased to report that Maddie has gained over a pound since she left the hospital! This is really encouraging, especially since she had trouble staying awake through mealtimes when she was first born.
